Responsible for performing deicing and anti-icing safety procedures on aircraft preparing for take-off at Pittsburgh International Airport.  IDS utilizes "state of the art" deicing trucks with forced air and single operator features to reduce glycol consumption and operating costs.  In addition worked on the following projects:

Capture all audio communications at each deicing pad

  • Researched, purchased and deployed a 4 channel voice activated digital audio recorder used to capture all audio communications between company employees, aircraft and airport agencies during daily 24/7 deicing operations for 5 company deicing pads. Developed all documentation, local operational procedures and training material including step by step multimedia instructions.

  • Researched, purchased and deployed an IP based video capture system to monitor operations at Pittsburgh Pa and Detroit MI deicing pads using Milestone XProtect Corporate software - a powerful IP video management system designed for large-scale, mission-critical enterprise applications, supporting unlimited cameras, servers and users.

Setup an internal web portal for company operations

  • Worked with the IT Administrator to research and setup a beta IDS web portal site using Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 to determine if the site is feasible to deploy across all IDS operations.

Newsflash

Yesterday all servers in the U.S. went out on strike in a bid to get more RAM and better CPUs. A spokes person said that the need for better RAM was due to some fool increasing the front-side bus speed. In future, buses will be told to slow down in residential motherboards.
